6 Steps to Get the Best Burger at Home

Need ideas for how to build a burger using one of our make at home patties? We have a 6 step guaranteed formula for making the most simple yet delicious burgers at home! Include all of these 6 elements and you have an incredible burger guaranteed every time!

1. GET A BIG ‘OLE BUN

Make sure it’s big! The bigger the bun, the more fillings you can put inside! Hurray!

2. CHOOSE YOUR SAUCE

We like to pre-slather the buns in sauce so as to get them really juicy and saucy before adding the toppings. There is nothing worse than a dry burger guys- nothing :(


We suggest the following combinations:

Habanero - salsa and mayo, or a sriracha mayo

BBQ Bean - Burger sauce, ketchup, or ketchup AND mayo if you want to take this whole burger taste experience to the next level. Trust us, it’s the way forward.

Shroom - BBQ Sauce or ketchup

3.CHOOSE YOUR BASE

This needs to be something leefy and green. We find that for a really smokin’ burger round lettuce or rocket works best.

4. NOW THE PATTY

Your patty is up next. Sit it on top of your lovely leafy lettuce bed. Does’t this sound so lovely and wholesome?! Finally, a little bit of sauce zig zagged on top of your patty will keep it nice and happy.

5. ADD SOME TOMATO

It’s not obligatory but a tomato always adds a refreshing brust of colour to what could be an otherwise very beige looking burger. Not to mention it adds an amazing fresh and zingy element to each bite. We like to use a juicy beef tomato but any large tomato will do! Pop this on top of the patty next.

6. NOW FOR THE EXTRA TOPPINGS

Now this is the part where things get really creative. You can put almost anything in a burger (within reason!) but to help you out we’ve given you a recommended list below. Go wild with this- chances are you can’t get it too wrong with this list and you may find a new favourite combo!

Our fav toppings:

Red onions, crispy shallots, caramelised onions, cheese, gherkins, slaw, kimchi, sauerkraut, avocado, shaved vegetables, sun dried tomatoes, pesto, jackfruit, tortilla chips, hummus, olives, fries, stir fried veg etc.

Our fav topping combos:

Classic burger combo: lettuce, tomato, red onion, vegan cheese and gherkin (best with: all of them!)

Medditerranean combo: rocket, pesto, sundried tomatoes (best with: Shroom)

Pinic combo: Hummus, rocket and olives (best with: Shroom or BBQ)

‘Impress your friends’ combo: Rocket, Avocado and caramelised onions (best with: Shroom)

Midwest combo: rocket, jackfruit and creamy slaw (best with BBQ)

Asian combo: shaved vegetables, kimchi and stir fried veg (best with: Habanero)
