WHAT’S OUR SECRET?

We pride ourselves in packing our handmade patties with nothing but the most nutrient dense plant based foods! Our patties aren't trying to be anything that they are not- we purely focus on vegetables, seeds, grains, legumes - all the good stuff! The reason being, when we started out the idea of eating deep fried gluten (seitan) and coating it in lashings of sauce just to make it taste of anything literally made us run a mile. So we wanted to make vegetables appealing again, do some innovative things and elevate their status by making them totally accessible, indulgent and delicious.

If you have something you’d like to ask us, don’t hesitate to drop us an email or send us a message on instagram!

So what exactly goes inside each of our tasty patties?

THE CLASSIC

THE HERO INGREDIENT/S: BLACK BEANS AND RED PEPPER

From a single, one-cup serving of black beans you get nearly 15 grams of fibre and over 15 grams of protein. Are you beginning to see a pattern here?! They are also a source of iron, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, manganese, copper, and zinc.

Red peppers are exceptionally rich in vitamin C and contain a whole host of other antioxidants and vitamins. More bang for your buck!

THE AUBURGER

THE HERO INGREDIENT/S: ONIONS AND CHICKPEAS. LOTS OF ‘EM!

Sometimes known as a garbanzo bean, The humble chickpea is absolutely jam packed with protein and fibre. They are also a great source of iron, vitamin B-6, and magnesium. Yay!

Onions contain a powerful cocktail of  vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants- which is good news for us (and you!) as we pack our patties full of them!

THE BIG MEX

THE HERO INGREDIENT/S: CORN AND CORIANDER

Corn is a wholegrain rich in folic acid and vitamin C- not to mention our favourites- protein and fibre! We add a touch of coriander to the patty (a source of dietary fiber, manganese, iron and magnesium) as well as a helping of Chipotle Tabasco sauce to give it a little bit of a kick. Yum!

THE NEW YORK MELT

THE HERO INGREDIENT/S: THE BEYOND MEAT PATTY

Looking and tasting like the real thing, after many requests we have now added the Beyond Meat patty to our menu, sharing the board with our usual signature offering of fresh housemade and plant-packed patties. Our NY Melt is a take on the iconic New York cheeseburger- featuring heaps of gherkins and oozy vegan cheese on a bed of lettuce and tomato, with generous lashings of our housemade burger sauce.

HABANERO

THE HERO INGREDIENT/S: CORN AND JALAPEÑO PEPPER

We don’t think jalapeños are given enough credit... as well as being a great source of fibre, they are packed with nutrients, including vitamin B6 and vitamin C. One of the most unique compounds in jalapeños is capsaicin, an alkaloid that gives peppers their characteristic spicy quality and is responsible for many of their health benefits! Woo! We combine jalapeño with sweetcorn in this patty to deliver something packed with flavour and just the right amount of spice. We love the Habanero for breakfast with avocado, fried tomatoes and coconut yoghurt or for dinner as part of an indulgent mexican-style burger!

BBQ

THE HERO INGREDIENT/S: BLACK BEANS AND GF BROWN RICE

Packed with black beans and brown rice, this humble but great patty is a great source of protein and fibre, packing in 7.32g of plant protein and 7.68g of fibre into each patty. The wholegrains and fibre in in this patty will keep you feeling fuller for longer! The spices in this patty help to give it that signature BBQ flavour as well as a little bit of a spicy kick! We think this patty is best had as a burger with lashings or mayonnaise and ketchup, or inside a spicy burrito!

SHROOM

THE HERO INGREDIENT/S: MUSHROOMS AND GREEN LENTILS

We love a good mushroom here at The Vurger Co. Not only does it give you an amazing earthy, rich flavour but it also delivers on really satisfying texture too! Mushrooms are a lesser known source of plant protein as well as being a source of B vitamins, selenium, potassium, copper, and vitamin D (from being exposed to the sun!). Keeping the mushrooms company inside this patty are lots of green lentils. Lentils are a great source of calcium, magnesium, folic acid, iron and fibre which makes them pretty spectacular! This patty is a winner all round. For something different, make our Shroom patty a staple in your cooked breakfasts and roast dinners or use them in spaghetti as ‘meat’balls!
