Morgan, you are skilled photographer, awesome career focussed woman and all round badass - tell us how you do it all?

You guys are way too sweet! In all honesty – with the bucketloads of enthusiasm I pride myself on. And also with copious amounts of breakfast tea and the support of my epic family.

What's your go to quick and easy dinner that you would make at home?

My favourite has to be a super quick stir fry with some broccoli, peas, asparagus, curried mango tofu from Taifun, and some buckwheat noodles, all tossed in the wok with some tamari and teriyaki – so delicious and so easy to throw together.

What made you switch to a plant based way of life?

I was actually in a weird period of transition of my life. As a recent graduate I was feeling a little purposeless and lost as the quest for a job in London began, and as I was spending so much time in introspection – I thought, what better way to find direction than in moving towards a more compassionate, loving way of life – and honestly I’ve never felt more purposeful in my life than I do now.

Your instagram account, @healthyhappyglow is incredibly honest and authentic, do you think these attributes are key in this industry?

I think a sense of authenticity and personal voice are so important in being a part of the instagram community. In hoping to inspire others to lead healthier, happier lives, and showing them just how easy this can be – I think we need to be super honest and open.

Do you try to fit any yoga or wellness focussed activities into your lifestyle and why?

I’m a big meditator, and very keen yogi. I was lucky enough to be raised by a badass mother and a grandmother that taught me the art of meditation at a young age, and it’s definitely been one of the most powerful tools I’ve ever learnt to stay centred. Mindful self-care really is one of the most powerful things we can cultivate. Whether that’s taking some time to burn candles, breathe deeply, moisturize mindfully... it needn’t just be sitting on a cushion chanting Om.

What angers you the most in your day to day London life and what would you love to do to change it?

I think something that saddens me more than anything is seeing so many people discontent with their current space. Whether that’s seeing friends in unfulfilling corporate jobs, or unhappy commuters – it’s something that really gets to me in London. I think that’s one of the reasons I am so inspired by the two of you – having taken the leap of faith to leave comfort and stability behind you, and to dive headfirst into a real passion of yours. Honestly you blow me away daily with your grit and enthusiasm for life!

More than anything a wish to leave this world a little brighter and more compassionate than when I entered it
— Morgan Masters

What drives you to succeed?

More than anything a wish to leave this world a little brighter and more compassionate than when I entered it. I’m unbelievably lucky to work for the incredibly special social enterprise that I do, that gives my life a little more meaning and purpose.

Do you think social media is key to the future of a plant based way of life and why?

Absolutely! My journey was definitely inspired by the epic vegans I was following on Instagram – and particularly with the rise of high-profile, mainstream celebrities moving towards a plant-based way of life, and using their platforms to spread the message, normalizing this lifestyle for their followers, and showing them just how easy and accessible it can be – which is absolutely crucial in this movement!

We know you love to travel, so where next?

I am so excited to say that I’m off to Sri Lanka in February with my wonderful team from LemonAid & ChariTea to meet our tea farmers, and to visit the development projects there that we support through the sales of our drinks – I just can’t wait!

For anyone who is thinking of switching their diet, what's your greatest advice that helped you along the way?

Take your time, do your research, and reach out to other vegans through social media. The support I received from some awesome vegans I knew online definitely helped me on my journey – particularly when those close to you in your day-to-day life may not yet be ready to make the switch with you!
