Please introduce yourself to our readers....

I am Co Founder of London ON The Inside and Partnerships & Insights Director at Ennismore. I’m happiest when I am eating (out, I don’t cook!), drinking cocktails or fizz and travelling. Both of my jobs involving doing things I love so I’m incredibly lucky but I’ve worked hard along the way.

You have an insanely busy schedule, being Partnerships & Insights Director at Ennismore, The Hoxton and Founding London ON the Inside - what’s the best part of your day to day life?

I’m naturally curious so I love discovering new things, meeting new people and writing about interesting things. I’m passionate about eating at new restaurants, staying at new hotels, visiting different cities and I get to do that in both of my roles. I’ve been part of the growth of two successful companies and I’ve helped shaped their paths. LOTI is a tiny team and Ennismore, whilst it has grown is still relatively small compared to some global organisations. Because teams are small it means you have a huge impact on the business, you get to come up with an idea and see it through from concept to creation.

Tell us what your ideal London day out would be?

It’d start with Turkish eggs at Providores, then a shopping spree in Selfridges, a cycle along the Southbank – nothing quite like riding over Tower Bridge to get your love for London flowing. Then I’d stop for a little snack and a sherry in Bar Duoru, potter around the new Tate before heading back to Stoke Newington for dinner in one of the neighbourhood restaurants and a pint in The Shakespeare, my local boozer and one of the best pubs in London!

LondON The Inside always has the best insider scoop on where to eat, what to do – how do you keep on top of what’s happening in London?

We’re always out and about and we’re nosey! So if we see something we’ll have a snoop, ask some questions and find out what’s going down. We also get info from PRs and working in the industry means I get to find out a hell of a lot of things that are happening, long before they happen – although most of which I can’t share.

What challenges do you face having to wear so many different hats, or do they all complement each other nicely?

They actually complement each other – I lead the food & travel news on LOTI so working in that industry means I’m pretty on the ball. Then there’s the people I meet via LOTI – especially at events who I can then work with at Ennismore. The only challenge is being incredibly busy and finding out insider info that I’d love to share but have to sit on.

LOTI supports small businesses from the ground up, was this a strategic decision?

We like to support small businesses, especially ones doing interesting things. Our ethos has always be to showcase London from the inside and that includes real life Londoners and their businesses.

Where would we most likely find you on a typical weekend?

I’m usually out Monday – Thursday so Friday is a night in or at the local, unless I’m off for a weekend away. Saturday I might go for a jog followed by lunch or dinner with friends. Sunday I am all about the Sunday roast followed by some Netflix and usually an hour or two of work in front of the TV.

I’m inspired by lots of different people, everyone from my mother who brought us up on a shoe string to my CEO who’s attention to detail is next level

Who inspires you and why?

I’m inspired by lots of different people, everyone from my mother who brought us up on a shoe string to my CEO who’s attention to detail is next level. I recently attended a couple of events at Hawksmoor too where I got to find out a little more about the founders (Will & Huw) and the work they do for Auction Against Hunger which was so inspiring I’m now a founding member of the George Foundation.

Finally, what's next for you? Where are you going, what are your goals and how does your 2018 look?

I’m just moved job roles from Comms Director to Partnerships & Insights Director and lucky for me this involves a 6 month relocation to New York due to The Hoxton’s North America openings. I’ll be spending time in NYC, LA, Portland, Chicago and San Fran and I’m looking forward to getting to know these cities. I’ll also be setting up New York On The Inside which means I’ll HAVE to eat and drink my way around the city! Exciting times ahead.

Thank you Jules, your passion, energy, enthusiasm and dedication is second to none, we appreciate all you do for small businesses and cannot wait to follow New York On The Inside!

THANK YOU SO MUCH
